Maddie is an interdisciplinary designer with a passion for brand design, and good fantasy novels.
She has worked hands-on with a variety of organizations, from research institutions to fundraising platforms, her passion lies in thoughtful, detail-driven design. With a strong foundation in typography and design-systems thinking, she enjoys crafting design experiences that are both intuitive and expressive—whether in digital interfaces, branding, or print.
Her curiosity and intentionality in navigating clients, teams, and creative challenges are at the heart of her process, paired with a deep appreciation for precision and a continuous drive to learn. She loves design because its collaborative nature allows her to be constantly learning from others. Her process is always evolving and seeks out the balance between whimsy and reason. Always drawing inspiration from the media around her—books, films, and music—she finds new ways to bring storytelling and structure into her work.
Her career has been shaped by a commitment to design for good. She has worked with organizations like the Michigan Department of Health during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, helped fundraisers bring their campaigns to life at Bonfire, and NORC at the University of Chicago, where research and data help inform meaningful change. Through each role, she has honed her ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visuals that engage and inform.
She holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Wayne State University and currently lives in Chicago. When she's not designing, you can often find her at her local indie theater, lost in a fantasy novel (currently deep into Malazan Book of the Fallen), or attending her partner's jazz gigs.
